Here are three fun things to do in Little Elm.
*One fun thing to do in Little Elm is visiting Pioneer Plaza. This park is located right near the location of the old Shawnee Trail that was once used for actual cattle drives and features a small waterfall and creek. Adults and children will both be able to enjoy climbing over the large rocks that are in the creek, as well as exploring the gravel path that follows the trail and taking in all of the landscaped native trees and bushes.
*Another fun thing to do in Little Elm is visiting Dallas Heritage Village at Old City Park. This location measures a total of 13 acres and is a virtual living history museum that depicts what life was like in the city from between the years of 1840 to 1910. This location includes a total of 38 Victorian-era homes and stores, which include log cabins, a working farm, a single-room schoolhouse, a general store, and a traditional Jewish household. Individuals in costumes will demonstrate projects such as cooking, weaving, and other types of crafts.
*One other fun thing to do in Little Elm is visiting the John F. Kennedy Memorial. This location is a 50-foot square concrete cenotaph with an open roof that was designed by New York architect Philip Johnson, who was also a friend of the family of the late President of the United States. Inside this monument, you will find a granite marker that is inscribed with the full name of the late President, while outside, there is an interpretive panel that defines a cenotaph as being “a memorial for one whose remains lie elsewhere.”
