Home Security Flower Mound – The Flower Mound is a namesake for Flower Mound, TX. It is located at 2400 Flower Mound Rd. The historic site is just under 13 acres of native Tall Grass Prairies segment of the Great American Black Land Prairie that rises 650 feet above sea level and stands 50 feet about the surrounding countryside.
Legends say The Mound is where scared rituals took place by the Wichita Indians as far back as the early 1800s. It is the same today as when it was first settled. It has never been plowed. Bluestem, Indian Grass, Switch Grass, and 400 varieties of wildflowers still grow there the same as they did hundreds of years ago.
The Mound was placed into permanent land conservancy by a group of determined citizens in 1983 and is now under the care of The Flower Mound Foundation.
Flower Mound is located in Denton County and encompasses approximately 45 square miles in the DFW Metroplex. Being only 20 miles of Dallas, 25 miles from Fort Worth and 3 miles from DFW Airport makes it almost “ten minutes from anywhere.”

RECREATION AND AMENITIES:
Located between Grapevine Lake and Lewisville Lake, and blessed with heavily wooded hills, panoramic views, and an abundance of creeks and lakeshores, Flower Mound offers limitless recreational and entertainment activities. Residents and site visitors experience sailing, water sports, fishing, hunting, camping, and trekking at these and different vicinity lakes.
Home to two nationally identified golfing guides, Tour 18 and Bridlewood Golf Club, golfing lovers revel in year-round play. In addition, there are about 150 personal and municipal golf courses in DFW.
The Town’s trail system has grown, from the first three miles constructed in 1989 to more than fifty-nine miles of eight-foot paved hike/bike trails currently placed throughout Flower Mound. Some of the trails are positioned within parks, along natural greenway corridors, or through subdivisions. There are also eleven miles of equestrian trails, baseball fields, soccer fields, and tennis courts.
The Flower Mound Performing Arts Theatre produces a full season of performances and musicals yearly and has an outstanding teen educational program. The Flower Mound Chamber Orchestra was founded in 1994 to provide an automobile for the performance and amusement of classical music. The orchestra consists of neighborhood musicians who volunteer their time and competencies for the gain of cultural consciousness in the community, and for their own leisure of playing.
