This is a collection that features a total of 47 gowns that were worn by Texas First Ladies, all dating back to the 1800s. The display itself is always changed throughout the year in order to ensure that no visit is always the same, meaning that approximately 20 pieces are highlighted at any one time. Visitors will be able to read about all of the gowns and the First Ladies who wore them.
*Another great thing to consider doing in the city of Denton is visiting the Greater Denton Arts Council. This facility both presents and supports many of the different cultural events that occur in the city, including all of those that are hosted at the Campus Theatre. Art galleries are featured, as well as dance spaces and other types of amenities. A full schedule of events is also offered, which includes summer camps and afterschool programming to both residents and visitors.

This location is part of Denton County’s Historical Park and offers options such as guided tours, self-guided tours, lectures, teacher workshops, and so much more, all of which are completely free of charge. The house offers a look at what life in rural Texas was like approximately 100 years ago. The house itself was expanded back in the year 1898 into the two-story Victorian Queen Anne that it appears to be today; however, it was originally a small farmhouse that was constructed back in the year 1882.
